Premiere Music Lessons For Kids, teens & Adults
Our Edmonton music school, Music Makers Academy, specializes in helping all students achieve their dreams of playing and mastering their musical instrument. Everyone can play music at a high level when they are given the right tools!
Violin lessons at Music Makers Academy include everything every violinist needs to know and that includes how to hold the instrument properly and how to read music.
Trumpet lessons at Music Makers Academy provide trumpet students with solid information they need in order to develop a big sound, produce a big range, and have lots of endurance. Trombone lessons, Tuba lessons, and Euphonium and Baritone lessons all demystify the basics that can elude even experienced amateurs: the secrets to sound, range, and technique.
All music students at MMA get solidly grounded in all the Fundamental Music Skills: Rhythm, Pitch, and Music Theory. The teachers at Music Makers Academy are highly experienced professional performers who specialize in Music for Special Events, Wedding Music, Funeral Music, and House Concerts.
There is a wealth of scientific research revealing that children who take music lessons develop higher IQ scores, stronger language and motor skills, are more socially well-adjusted, have greater academic success, and are just generally happier and more confident than other kids. And playing a musical instrument is fun!
After just a few weeks of lessons children experience the magic of playing real music. Older kids and young adults who have had years of music lessons find wonderful social and travel opportunities open to them and the benefits of music lessons are so strong and universally recognized university programs (like medicine) expect applicants to have a music background.
The benefits of music lessons for children have been well known for many years but only recently has science realized learning a musical instrument is great for adults and seniors.
All the same benefits that children enjoy come to adults who study music and some of those benefits are especially interesting to adults, such as improved memory and cognition, fine motor skills, and fun activities that create strong, long-term social connections.
Adults who do know all this may still hesitate because they believe that it is too late to start. That is a myth that we love to bust at Music Makers Academy. With good instruction and regular practice, anyone at any age can learn to play music at a high level. Let’s get started!
